RonPurewal:
If (B) is a "yes", this means that the tick population is smaller than it could be, because there aren't enough host animals to go around. I.e., the tick population "wants" to get bigger, but simply can't, because there aren't enough host animals.
If that's the case, then introducing extra host animals won't spread the ticks out more thinly; it will just increase the total number of ticks! So the bacterium won't be affected.
, a discovery that...
"..., a discovery that..."
第一种:…, some of which…
第二种:…, some of them...
第三种:…, some…
我这里记录的做主语 指的是 some of which做从句的主语;伴随的意识是 some of them unfettered by...而不是 some of them were unfettered by,其中some可以替换为all each 等等
注意c和E的区别,C说的是reform activity,E说的是presence at rally,明显文章说的是presence at rally。
they were not nearly as high as in the early 1980s, when
The infant mortality rate has decreased steadily over the past decades and is now lower than ever before.
The infant mortality rate has decreased steadily over the past decades and is now lower than (the infant mortality rate has decreased)ever before.
Even though interest rates rose last year, they were not nearly as high as (the interests rates rose)IN the early 1980s, when the economy tumbled into a recession and markets were depressed.
A:Since "spend nearly six hours a week", like ""perform well", doesn't represent a fundamental change of state or indicate a difference along the timeframe, thus the combination of "had spent nearly six hours a week" and "by 1997" makes no sense here.
Like brown bears and polar bears (and unlike other myrmecophagous mammals, which are noted for their passivity), sloth bears are easily provoked to aggression.
文章下面又说sloth bear cub can not choose climber tree as defense from predation.
"amount" is a construction that can only be used to refer to UNCOUNTABLE quantities -- Ron
Premise:this insurance is partly responsible for the high rate of bank failures, since it removes from depositors any financial incentive to find out whether the bank that holds their money is secure against failure.
Conclusion:If depositors were more selective, then banks would need to be secure in order to compete for depositors' money.
题目错了,应该是[m]=1/2*m when m is even.
Negative:
If (B) is a "no", then the tick population is not artificially small as a result of a limited # of host animals. In that case, the plan is likely to have the described effect.
Those are fundamentally contrasting outcomes, depending on whether (B) is true or false, so that means (B) affects the judgment.
