这一段的中心 self-realization depends on the harmonious reconciliation of two universal psychological tendencies:
一心定位在 第三段第一句 offer a surer road to truth
B选项the discipline needed in the search for truth的问题可能在于 discipline needed 太过于肯定
原文只是说offer a surer road ...
D clues to 比较符合
It is illustrated by their emphasis upon introspection—their belief that the clue to external nature is to be found in the inner world of individual psychology—and by their interpretation of experience as, in essence, symbolic.
It is illustrated by ... and by ....
According to the passage, the five writers object to the scientific method primarily because they think it
object to反对
A third assumption common to the five writers is that intuition and imagination offer a surer road to truth than does abstract logic or scientific method.
这句话直接将intuition and imagination 与abstract logic or scientific method比较。
错选C cannot provide an adequate explanation of intuition and imagination
Both these stresses presume an organic relationship between the self and the cosmos of which only intuition and imagination can properly take account.
而在于 intuition and imagination offer a surer road
some of their beliefs about the difficulties involved in self-realization
- difficulties 错
some of their beliefs concerning the world and the place that humanity occupies in the universal order
some of their beliefs concerning the relationship between humanism and democracy
----democracy 错
the way some of their beliefs are shaped by differences in temperament and literary outlook
----- shaped by differences in temperament and literary outlook
the effects of some of their beliefs on their writings
----on their writings不是目的
It can be inferred that the analyses of the author of the passage and the scholars mentioned in lines 20–23 (After…legislative victories) differ with regard to which of the following?
After the mid-1920s, few successes could be claimed by feminist reformers: little could be seen in the way of legislative victories.
--- analyses of the author of the passage主要体现在第3段。
there was intense activism aimed at achieving increased autonomy for women, broadening the spheres within which they lived their daily lives. Women’s organizations worked to establish opportunities for women: they strove to secure for women the full entitlements of citizenship, including the right to hold office and the right to serve on juries.
A criteria
D Their definitions of what constitutes a legislative victory
“Why don’t you ask if suffrage in general is failing?”
B point out contradictions inherent in the goals of the women’s suffrage movement
--- contradictions inherent in the goals
E suggest that the old view of women’s suffrage was inappropriate
也就是old view ... inappropriate
反对的出发点:the unkept “promises” of the women’s suffrage movement
2)suffrage a failure for not delivering on the promise。
但是被问到“Asked whether women’s suffrage was a failure”,这些女权学者很“哲学”含糊的说:“Why don’t you ask if suffrage in general is failing?”
In some ways, however, these scholars still present the 1920s as a period of decline.
这些女权学者认为:the feminist movement lost its cohesiveness, and gender consciousness waned(苍白).
During this decade, however, there was intense activism aimed at achieving increased autonomy for women,…… Women’s organizations worked to ……
----------------
A ……failed to reach some of their goals
B presenting scholarship that contrasts suffragist “promises” with the historical realities of the 1920s
-- with the historical realities of the 1920s
C discussing recent scholarship concerning the achievements of women’s suffrage during the 1920s and presenting an alternative view of those achievements
D outlining recent findings concerning events leading to suffrage for women in the 1920s and presenting a challenge to those findings
present challenge to……
E providing support for a traditional view of the success
--没有support old view
所以AE的strikes都错了,AD的can do也错了,ABDE错
In no other historical sighting did Halley's comet cause such a worldwide sensation
Halley's comet caused such a worldwide sensation in no other historical sighting...
(Halley's comet caused such a worldwide sensation) in its return of 1910–1911
A.did its return in 1910–1911=its return cuase such a worldwide sensation...
B.had its 1910–1911 return。
E的was to be into表达也很奇怪,E不好。
1.措辞,because of 和beacuse+clause。
2.idiom:正确ability to do sth, ability for sth, capability to do,capability of doing sth, capability for sth
CD错
3.措辞,specially 和especially
RON:especially=to an unusually high degree ,or,more so than comparable thing.(something unusual)
specially =done in special manner(on purpose)
33 percent of what?
30%?the energy?nuclear power?
in Germany the energe is just over 33 percent,明显错。
in Germany nuclear power is just over 33 percent, nuclear power占谁的33%?
an achievement that other Scandinavian kings attempted to repeat later in the century, but without success
prevent from
, that gives mouth sores to cattle and displaces grasses and other cattle food, that前面为啥加逗号,that指代leafy spurge还是milky sap?
