这个题找gap最清楚，是假设题里少有的可以找gap的题：

由于本题已经讲过了more than three times as many，所以划线部分必须以as开头。排除(A)(B)(C)。这道题目的意思是：收取学费少于8000每年的高等教育机构是超过三倍于收取超过16000每年的学费的机构的。由于as many as中间是一个行为，即，independent institutions of higher education charge tuition and fees，因此本题的对比对象应为两个收费行为，as身后应该用动词charge over $16,000，不能比较机构数(those charging over $16,000)。

我们在英语中常见for sb to do sth这一结构（不定式的复合结构），例如：

划线部分其实基本相当于一个从句的作用，被形式主语it所指代

动名词短语using fire to cook food需改为名词短语the use of fire to cook food
核心词是火的使用而不是做饭。用火做饭可解释。。。而不是用火做饭被追溯解释。。。。

其实就是第二种转化方法的油的原材料多，所以推出我们的油很够用。但是逻辑漏洞就是，两种转化效率不同，万一第二种原料多，但是浪费的也多，油出的少，那就不能说明我们的油够用了。所以E就补了这个漏洞。
