not so much/as:
as/as即可用于肯定句，也可用于否定句；not so/ as只能用于否定句；
not so much A/as B，与其说是……，不如说是，相当于rather than。可以变形为 not so much A/but B或 not A, so much as B
not so much A/as B可以跟名词/形容词/短语/句子，要求连接对象平行。如：
He isn't so much ill as depressed．=He's depressed rather than ill.
Oceans don't so much divide the world as unite it．
You feel lost, not so much because it threatens you as because it shows humans in such a inhuman light.
