Until a few centuries ago, any large bones discovered in the fields or caves of Europe, now known to be large prehistoric animals, were usually assumed to be the remains of giants and were often displayed as curiosities in castles, palaces, town halls, churches, and monasteries.

另外,骨头(any large bones)不会被认为是大型动物,而只能被认为是大型动物的“骨头”,即,known to be large prehistoric animals需改为known to be those of large prehistoric animals。
选项B:known as from large prehistoric animals和assumed as the remains of giants需要改为known to be from large prehistoric animals和assumed to be the remains of giants。
bones now known to be those of large prehistoric animals是any large bones的同位语。
选项D:known as应改为known to be错误同(B);assumed as s应改为assumed to be错误同(B)。
选项E:known修饰错误同选项(A);known as错误同选项(B)。
be known as真的有错吗?
Manhattan
RIGHT: we know her to be brilliant. She is known to be brilliant.
we know him as "Reggie". He is known as "Reggie".
Wrong: we know her as brilliant. (know as=named)
Europe

B. known as后面不能接from,要接名词
A、B,known as/to be在Europe后面是会有歧义的,一种是作伴随省略being,主语是bones;一种是过去分词作定语,修饰Europe
A. bones 是 large prehistoric animals,错误
BD. 名词+Known/assume as(介词)+名词(名称) 名词+Known/assume to be (系动词) +名词/形容词(性质),故错误
DE. those of the remains of 错误
B. kniwn as 后面不能再加介词from

名词+Known/assume as(介词)+名词(名称)
名词+Known/assume to be (系动词) +名词/形容词(性质)
B和D因为as后面不能加介词排除,e后面的those没必要,不能是bone是those of遗骸
known as & assume as是可以的
known as 的意思是"绰号是,昵称是“,而known to be 的意思是”被知道是xxx"
“discovered in the fields or caves of Europe”是修饰语不影响语义的,后半句指代的就是前面的bone,这个应该没有错误。
A discovered in the fields or caves of Europe和now known to be large prehistoric animals 两个修饰并列应该用and连接
