In a blow to those who still harbored the illusion that E-mail exchanges are private, a watchdog group recently uncovered a trick for enabling an interloper to rig an E-mail message so that this person will be privy to any comments that a recipient had added as the message is forwarded to others or sent back and forth.

A trick for doing不正确,for表用途或理由 实际上是介绍trick
1) Pronouns - The opening of the sentence states that "In a blow to THOSE…."; here, the word "those" is a pronoun. In the answers, we see that some have an extra pronoun and some don't. Since we already have a pronoun, we do NOT need another pronoun immediately next to it. That extra pronoun is redundant (and unnecessary). Eliminate A, B and C.
开头句those后面不能跟代词,否则重复
2) Verbs - Between D and E, we have the verbs "enables" (present tense) and "will enable" (future tense). Since the watchdog group "recently uncovered the trick", we're dealing with something that's happening in the immediate present. The verb "enables" is required here. Eliminate E.
【recently uncovered a trick】已经发生,后面用【will enable】不妥
1、 this person will XXXX as the message is XXX 主将从现
2、for enabling错
这题完全考时态,A选项still harbored 和后面的are时态明显不对应,后面的had added和非划线部分的is不对应,排除;
B选项had still...和后面的are不对应,后面的this person was privy的was时态也有问题,过去时说明动作发生在过去,现在不再privy了,语意明显不对;
C选项were harboring和are不对应,过去进行时强调过去的某个时间段的动作一直在进行,后面的would add也不对,would应该是will;
E选项still harboring和后面的过去完成时不对应,was privy也不对
最近一个网络监察团队发现(uncovered)了一种欺诈方式,这种方式可以使(enables)黑客操纵别人的电子邮箱,从而侵入(will be privy)那些可能会被加入到(might add)跟别人往来(is forwarded to)的邮件中的信息,这个发现刷新了那些一直认为(those still harboring)邮件是(are)保密的人的看法

【recently uncovered a trick】已经发生,后面用【will enable】不妥
A,had added表示添加评论发生在uncovered这个团体揭露这个trick之前,错误
B,might have added表示then的过去不可能发生,即添加评论这件事情是与过去的惯常相反的,错误
C,so that this person is privy表示这些坏人过去用了一个trick使某人过去可以rig a message,因此这个人现在可以be privy,错误
E,had been private表示吃瓜群众认为邮件在团体uncovered trick以前是隐私性的,错误
A,B,a trick for doing sth, for表用途或理由,trick的用途是使人能够干啥干啥,不对
C,D,so that=so,所以,如:So that I can find you by the smile… wherever you are. C,D将so that看成so,do sth so sb will be ……比do sth so sb IS ……更好
E,持有某种幻想,认为邮件交流是私密的,一个句子里可以有不同的时态,邮件交流是私密的这件事(在这些人的幻想里)不管过去、现在还是未来都是私密的,用一般现在时比过去完成时好。
a trick of doing
A. for enabling两种解释都存在问题:如果理解成 a trick for doing something,则习语使用错误,若理解成 the group uncovered … for enabling表目的,则应该优先使用不定式,所以,for doing在这里是不正确的用法;
B. for enabling的错误见A选项解释;who had still been过去完成时使用错误:过去完成时用于表达已经完成了的动作,但是此处又使用了still,表示现在仍然,出现语义上的矛盾。
C. who still were应该被省去;so that从句应该用将来时will be privy to
D. 正确,harboring…是现在分词作后置定语,修饰those。
E. Had been private使用过去完成时态不正确;a trick that enables表明这个伎俩现在已经生效,是对这个伎俩功能的一般描述;而will enable,“将会”使得,则表明这个伎俩现在还没有造成威胁
如果D选项变成 who are still harboring, 还正确吗?
即使这样后面那个had been也说不过去吧
