老师，请问C和E相比，语义的差异实在那里呀？
我只看出来一个做定语修饰benefits，一个做状语修饰整个句子。

第一个是定语一个是状语已经是非常大的成分差异了。
如果是选项C，那么意思是把退休收益项目添加到时薪增加里去。这在逻辑上不正确。“退休收益”和“时薪增加”应该分别是雇员们寻求的两项福利。这两项福利本身不会自己相加。

D项 were是increase的谓语，应该用单数

这句话的意思是：铁路工人在上个7月份提出了涨工资，随后现在他们又计划扩大自己的退休福利。因此两个事情应该是并列关系，或者说是在涨工资的基础上，又怎么怎么了
首先看added to 想到 动词的主语逻辑主语是谁 真正的主语又该是谁
C明显不可以现在项目的红利加到去年的什么工资上去

AB中added的逻辑主语错误，直接排除
C没有语法错误，但C的语义有问题。人们现在seek的 expanded benefits和the increase in hourly wages并没有added to的黏着关系，而in addition to表示的是一个除此之外的关系，并不是附着关系，added to错误
D有语法错误，按照正确的逻辑，that指代的应该是increase，所以这里应该用was；或者可以理解为：这里用了were，所以that指代的就不是increase么认识wages，这与语义相悖了...

被request的是increase，不是wages。。。。呃。。。
但是ADVANCED的第34题里，错误选项Cunderwritten会被判定为就近修饰programs 所以不对。只能说这道题里D有硬伤，但是D如果把were改成was，应该是要比E更准确吧？
对吖，d这里用了were就是修饰wages了，所以不对，如果改成was那就d更准确。34题的话c选项相较于正确选项会产生歧义所以排除。这题是有绝对错误，34题是择优。
明白了，所以过去分词作（n+prep+n）的后置定语时，造成的只是相对模糊而不是绝对错误。如果有其他选项避开了这个指向模糊，那就选更好的；如果其他选项错得更离谱，也不能觉得这个是错的。之前背的语法点是过去分词只能修饰紧邻名词，看来不能依赖背语法点对付gmat鸭
我觉得gmat感觉不能较真的一个考试，主要还是像老师说的抓主干看意思吧，尽量找最合理的解释，不要给选项挑错，加油哦！

in addition to可以加在主句的任何成分上，不仅是主语
根据题意，题目想要表达的是 除了the increase in hourly wages requested last July之外，exployees ... 故 added to 应该用 in addition to ，ABC错误
D选项，were 应该用 was
想问一下，E选项中requested 作为过去分词为什么不会被判定为就近修饰wages呢？感觉有点怪怪的

首先说说在GMAT中that 和which 定语从句的区别，that定语从句通常可以跳跃修饰，而which一般是修饰前面离它最近的名词；
第二说说语义，能看出来题目想要表达的是request the increase in hourly wages；
最后就是在GMAT考试中，正确选项通常会避免一些模棱两可或者有争议的问题，能用非谓语动词的就不会用定语从句，因为非谓语动词不用考虑时态问题以及单复数问题，而定于从句必须考虑这些，所以通常非谓语动词会是正确选项

不存在，in addition to 后面接的是名词 increase 不是动词，所以句子的主语employyees和前面的 increase 不存在什么搭不搭配的问题。如果in addition to 后面跟了动词，那可能要考虑句子的逻辑主语和in addition to后面动词动作的发出者是否一致的问题。
