这里其实用began和was begun都可以的。还记得我讲过的“中动词”吧？有很多词，主动和被动是同意的。比如，the door is opened和the door opens。理论上，门也不能自己开呀，怎么也是被风吹开的吧？所以，这些中动词就可以让主动和被动同意。begin也是一样的道理。

当然不是！要注意known的主句。本题中其主句为begin。过去分词，通常表示这件事先于其主句发生。那么，总不可能是，在Construction of the Roman Colosseum“开始“之前，它就已经被官方的也称为the Flavian Amphitheater了吧？（注意known as的意思是“被称为、亦称为”）。正常的逻辑必然是，这个罗马角斗场先被建成，然后使用，之后才会出现“也被称为”。因此，这里的know不能用过去分词短语的形式。
