有点不大合适，还是想问一下：第一个破折号可以看作是对上一个句子的说明，为何第二个破折号就不可以了呢？

哦，你说划线部分之外的啊。这两个破折号就相当于夹着一个插入语，两个破折号是一组的，不能分开来看。有些时候，破折号是只有一个的，表示对前句或前面某个词的修饰。有些时候，是用两个破折号的，也是表示对前句或对前词的修饰。
请教，那破折号不能当作连词的话，B选项就缺少一个连词了？因为整个句子有两个谓语动词，一个是划线处的appear，一个是未划线处的was
我好像知道了，是不是因为appear是从句的谓语，was是主句的谓语。之前题目没看清楚
