His studies of ice-polished rocks in his Alpine homeland, far outside the range of present-day glaciers, led Louis Agassiz in 1837 to propose the concept of an age in which great ice sheets had existed in now currently temperate areas.
in which great ice sheets had existed in now currently temperate areas
in which great ice sheets existed in what are now temperate areas
when great ice sheets existed where there were areas now temperate
when great ice sheets had existed in current temperate areas
when great ice sheets existed in areas now that are temperate
曼哈顿说where引到定语从句时不能修饰有暗喻性、抽象的的地点(a “metaphorical” place),比如condition,situation,case,circumstance,arrangement,而改用in which。
E选项中的now 是修饰的existed,这是不对的,应该放在that are temperate里面
E选项that are和C选项there be句型都是不优的,A选项now和currently语意重复
求大神们讲讲,when和in which的区别?
我觉得也是now的位置很奇怪,areas 后面跟定语从句不该夹着个副词,应该是areas that are now temperate比较合理

【求教】请问老师B和E的区别,我觉得in which和when区别不大?所以是因为in what are now temperate areas比in areas now that are temperate要好?
