If x and y are integers, what is the value of x ?

(1) xy= 1

(2) x ≠ -1

Statement (1) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (2) alone is not sufficient.

Statement (2) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (1) alone is not sufficient.

BOTH statements TOGETHER are sufficient, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient.

EACH statement ALONE is sufficient.

Statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are NOT sufficient.

（1）已知xy=1，所以解为x=1,y=1或者x=-1,y=-1，由于不知道y的值，因此无法计算x的值

（2）同样，仅有条件2也无法知道x的值。

结合条件1和条件2，由于x ≠ –1，排除解中x=-1,y=-1的情况，所以，x=1。

因此，本题答案为（C），两个条件结合起来才能解题，任何单独一个均不行。
