C选项：being relatively isolated from world trade at the time应该是用来修饰Japan's isolation，而此选项中它用来修饰 the prolonged peace。
D选项：用 at the time，而且后面加of ... 就不要使用during，此种情况就只使用during...
E选项：then 在 world trade厚 很尴尬，应为during the Tokugawa shogunate已经给出具体的时间段了；同时its指代不清晰。

C: 伴随状语 being relatively isolated 的逻辑主语是主句peace， 而显然应该是japan，杀掉

its指代不清，但GMAT都是按照最合理意思解读，实际是可以认为是japan's的。 then在逗号前面，这里本身就不是当连词用，例如， back then, I killed a monster和这里是一样的用法
我的理解是its不能指代Japan's，因为E选项里面只有in Japan，而its指代peace是不对的，这里的then前面都是n，back then没问题,但是简化来看Its apple then, I ate是说不通的
