2-C， 语法错误，and那里是另一个从句，不应该有and，同时就算加了and也不平行；
3-剩下A和D，D很诱惑，光看选项好像是个正确的不得了的定从，但实际第三个句子应该是although的后面个从句，应该有完整结构，排除D，A正确
it不是指代pacific吧，应该是知道 a constellation of small islands
对对， 往上找合理的代词，应该是constellation

C选项 although 和and重复了
我倒觉得出现了平行连接词and，就应该看看平行对象前后是否平行，and前是主句，后是从句，显然不行
因为although开始的让步状语未划线不能变所以两个句子间已经有了连词，看到and就不对了。其实差不多的意思。
