③ Tufe Island is significantly drier than Tufe Peninsula was.
Tufe Island is significantly drier than Tufe Peninsula was.
**EXPECT
*RIGHT:
We EXPECT the price TO FALL.
The price IS EXPECTED TO FALL.
We EXPECT THAT the price WILL FALL.
IT IS EXPECTED THAT the price WILL FALL.
Inflation rose more than we EXPECTED.
There IS an EXPECTATION THAT the price will fall.
同文expect that
Tufe Island is significantly drier than Tufe Peninsula.
There were even claims that IT had improved the performance of the service sector significantly, although macroeconomic measures of productivity did not reflect the improvement.
,D the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund-the foremost international development institutions-have continued to promote the NIC path as the way for heavily indebted developing countries to proceed.
It is true that as the capacity of a manufacturing operation rises, costs per unit of output fall as plant size approaches "minimum efficient scale,"
此处已将realize economies of scale的概念细化为“approach minimum efficient scale”
即approach minimum efficient scale=realize economies of scale
If throughput falls below a critical point, unit costs rise sharply and profits disappear.
an increase in the cost per unit of output是果,throughput falls below a critical point是因

此后一直到“ or inefficient sales networks”都是解释tangible capital对e of s的影响为何有限,引入cost的概念(经济金融专业的应该都懂,就是那个fixed cost的图),在第一段最后一句得出结论:tangible capital决定potential e of s,realized e of s由intangible capital决定。
可见全文的重点在于结论和结论后的内容,即A选项point out the importance of intangible capital for realizing economies of scale in manufacturing
也就是说,本题中train的控制力较强,可以控制事件的发生,因此宾语的补语应该用不定式短语的形式,即,to respect simplicity, be austere, and observe a ritualized code of behavior。”
“A survivor of the changes that swept the travel industry as a result of the deregulation of the airlines in 1978 — changes that included dramatic growth in the corporate demand for travel services, as well as extensive restructuring and consolidation within the travel industry ”
为什么D错,这里说了the corporate demand for travel services.
第二部分明显为主结论,选项D却用定位为claim(而不是conclusion或position)。

rangeland n.
