我的错因:
1)这道题的“catfish to swim erratically”与"earthquake"本身就是correlation而不是"causal relation"。C选项确实undermine了——并非是“catfish to swim erratically”导致的earthquake，但是并不能否定correlation，反而是在揭示correlation的原理。
2)审题上，题干强调的是major/dangerous earthquake, 而E选项是slight tremors。

我觉得，这题问的是undermines the usefulness of the proposal，C选项没有削弱这个proposal的usefulness，因为不管tremor是使得鱼类behave erratically的间接还是直接原因，都不影响这个proposal能否使用。
