require是和that后面的have平行哦，都是属于winter greens的限定性定语的一部分，只不过加了一个thus来表明一种因果关系，即“因为叶子硬，所以需要更多的烹饪时间”。所以这句话翻译为，不像（叶子硬所以需要更多烹煮时间的）winter greens那样，莴苣菜基本不需要怎么煮。

escarole是菜，我还以为是某种化学元素……
unlike表示“比较”，注意前后的对象需具有比较性。A选项需特别注意。
