这个题有难度……我觉得纠结点并不是smooth和smoothly有什么区别，看英文解释：
adverb: smooth
in a way that is without difficulties.
"the course of true love never did run smooth"
而smoothly的副词则还有in a smooth way的意思，所以我觉得纠结这个……基本上想做出题是没戏了。
首先这个句子的意思是：自打19世纪40年代以来，飞机制造厂就致力于制造一种无摩擦的机翼；而打造的如此光滑，如此完美的机翼可以让经过机翼的气流不会变的颠簸了。
我觉得主要问题在于后半句的这个形容其实并非完全直接在形容frictionless wings，而是单纯说有这样属性的机翼有什么好处。
当然我觉得我上考场十有八九会选A。。。
