用之于本题，在逻辑意思上，a way to do和a way of doing是有区别的。of是介词，身后的doing只能是动名词短语。动名词，已经属于名词范畴了，名词（doing）具有指称的作用，用于指代一个客观存在的实体，例如chair、mountain、home等。将这个概念推而广之，一件事，如果能用名词指代了，必然是已经客观存在了的事情。用动名词则表示这个事情已经在其主句发生的时候发生了（可能还没有结束，但事情发生的起点肯定在其主句发生之前）。而不定式（to do）则表示这件事在主句发生时还未发生。因此我们需要根据句子的情况来选择way to do和way of doing。
