（转 存档）这题我扒了国内国外很多解释，最后还是同意RON解释的。
RON觉得，“Heating-oil prices are expected to be higher this year than last”跟“Prices at the producer level are only 1.3 percent higher now than a year ago”，都是省略了（they were），省略了之后 aren't necessarily faulty，也就是省略不省略都可以接受。比较对象是两个时间段的价格，但不是 those of last year，因为要跟前面的句式保持平行，所以是they were。

我觉得last year's 应该是对比形式不同的问题吧，如果用the prices of last year,是不是就对了呢？

应该是5 dollar a barrel more for crude oil 而不是 5 dollar a barrel for crude oil more
rise higher是redundancy的用法

关于expect的用法，曼哈顿有下面几种：
曼哈顿：
① expect+ noun
② Subject+ expect+ that+ noun+ will... We expected that the price will fall.
③ Subject+ expect+ noun+ to... We expected the price to fall.
④ It is expected that... It is expected that the price will fall.
⑤ There is an expectation that...will... There is an expectation that the price will fall.

所以，it is expected that sth will do以及sb is expected to do的用法都是没问题的，有问题的是sb/sth is expected that 。如果这样看，不太理解E选项中expect身后不能用宾语从句，而应该用不定式的说法。。。

2.last year's在than的身前无法找到平行对象，

个人觉得，这道题考查的是权衡不同的知识点差异，选出相对来说比较好的那一个。句意看，比较的是两年的价格。如果答案中有that of last year的话，应该选这个，但是CE选项用last year‘s就很奇怪了。看pay $5 a barrel more，这个more不能往后放，不能选E。

为什么要用they were (paying) last year这个过去进行时而不用一般过去时 they did last year呢？

A 中 比较的确实是不同年份的价格
但是由于前面是 higher this year， 而不是 higher in this year， 所以后面也没有in last year， 从而保持平行 所以没有错！！
C中的主干： Expectations are to be higher this year than last year's 成了比较expectations ❌

觉得expect that没有错

我觉得不管是用last year还是those of last year都是比较的两个年份的价格，只不过前者省略了prices，因为都是一样的主语，Og里面还有一个题也是一样的价格的比较，但是写出来了those。还有曼哈顿里面写的是It Is expected that sth will的用法是完全可以的

rise表达了“上升”的意思，而higher表示更高。在逻辑上，rise的结果一定是“使得某物higher”，因此，rise或higher只能存在一个，higher赘余

另外，我觉得B项不是赘余，是意思改变，原意说是这一年价格比那一年价格高，而B项就成了这一年价格所上升的比那一年价格所上升的高，您觉得呢？
