这道题挺模糊的，没有非常明确的考点，排除点Manhattan也没提，prep07解释如下：
①on account of/because of/despite(in despite of)/as a result of 等介词短语后只跟简单的名词短语，若气候跟的是动名词或名词所有格+动名词短语（sb's doing）,以及名词短语后用现在分词做modifier，应改为because、although等连词所引导的从句→由此排除C
②pronoun：忘记去分析pronoun了， 这是个比较常考但又常被我忽略，觉得难以判断的考点，以后要多加注意→可以排除E，因为it指代错误；但我觉得不能因此排除B，其中的they从逻辑意义上讲只能指代company，这是个很模糊的判断点。暂且不表
剩下A与D，都做整个句子的修饰语，我当时以为形容词不能直接做modifier，至少应该以 bing aware of.....才对所以排除了D。
总而言之，这道题，有毒。但形容词做modifier这个知识点要补。
