Selma Lagerlöf was the novelist,这是不正确的。 Selma Lagerlöf became the first woman。另外,定语从句who became the first woman and was also the first Swedish writer需改为 who became the first woman and also became the first Swedish writer。
C选项:副词in addition to需改为并列连词and, became the first woman和was also the first Swedish write应具有并列关系。另外,winning the Nobel Prize for Literature应改为不定式短语to win the Nobel Prize for Literature,这点考查了不定式和ing的区别,该错误原理同(B)。
E选项:定语从句that won the Nobel Prize for Literature应改为不定式短语to win the Nobel Prize for Literature错误同选项(B)。
B.actually, the way the parallelism is written here, "she" doesn't mean selma.
if i say "he wrote the first half, and jim wrote the second half", then the one thing of which you can be absolutely sure is that jim didn't write the first half.
Become sb to do sth, 这个结构才能确保后面修饰到the First Lady and first Swedish
c: was a novelist表示好像现在不是novelist了,语义不对
actually, the way the parallelism is written here, "she" doesn't mean selma.if i say "he wrote the first half, and jim wrote the second half", then the one thing of which you can be absolutely sure is that jim didn't write the first half.
C. .i don't like "was a novelist" either; it seems to imply that selma stopped being a novelist at some point, becoming something else."
A novelist。。。, SL became。。。

(C) in addition (adv) _even we delete it, the meaning of the core of the sentence should not be changed. Hwr, the meaning changes here and we know that the intended meaning: 1st woman and Swedish writer are of the same importance.
(D) Grammatically correct and convey a clear meaning.
(E) that cannot modi ppl. Of course, there are other problems in the choice.
(A) ving,SVO。S shd immediately follow the ving
(B) She+ and SL blablabla->change meaning. Btw, shd avoid the usage like this one in which the pronoun precedes the ante. Besides, that modfied ppl is definitely wrong in GMAT.
and also 不能拿来做排除的理由;虽然很多题目正确答案里都不包括and also;但我看很多OG里解释时,并没有指出and also 是意思重复;
Ron: the worst thing about this choice, though, is "that". you cannot EVER use "that" to refer to people, even though we do so all the time in spoken english.
我觉得意思是the first...to do...

选项a in1909修饰了主句SL was a novelist不搭
再看,a中and后面的was和b中的as well as均产生了成为第一个女人的错误意思
1. 原文的from XX to XX的逻辑在后面的BE选项中被改成了并列
2. 【the first women and the first swedish】writer的意思在AC中比改了
