PS. capability of doing的用法目前众说纷纭，没有定论，因此不能单靠这一点排除某一选项。
应该是deal的capability，而不是respiratory的capability，所以capability后面定语的核心词应该是deal。
表示做某事的能力，capability后面通常接 to do sth / of doing sth，也可接for doing sth举个栗子：The boy shows a great capability (to learn/ of learning/ for learning) languages. 这孩子显露出学习语言的卓越能力。

1，如果用IN doing，则可以理解为，在做...的时候，二氧化硫削弱了他的能力，至于哪个方面的能力，并不明确，因为in 的结构不如to do的结构能够表达。可以理解为实意的缺失。
2，如果要用capable表达某个方面的能力，应该用capablity of.
3, 而B的错误，用because of 则比较明显了，考点应该是核心词。
