In February 1995, Doris Schopper became president of the international council of Médecins sans Frontiéres, known in English as "Doctors Without Borders," the world's largest independent, international, voluntary emergency medical assistance and relief organization.
known in English as "Doctors Without Borders,"
the English for "Doctors Without Borders,"
in English named as "Doctors Without Borders,"
"Doctors Without Borders," as they are known in English
or "Doctors Without Borders," which is in English
Doctors Without Borders和Médecins sans Frontiéres之间的关系不同。在(A)(D)中,Doctors Without Borders和Médecins sans Frontiéres之间的关系是:前者(Doctors Without Borders)是后者(Médecins sans Frontiéres)的英文表达;
在(B)中,Médecins sans Frontiéres成为了英语(the English for使得其引导的部分是Médecins sans Frontiéres的同位语),而Doctors Without Borders是“其他语言”;
在(C)中,Médecins sans Frontiéres在英语中被命名(named as)为了Doctors Without Borders;在(E)中,Médecins sans Frontiéres和Doctors Without Borders是二者择一(or)的关系。
b,the English是同位语,for后修饰english,english是前面的同位语,不对
D they指代
C named as :XX
D They 指代错
错选C,"Médecins sans Frontiéres在英语中被命名(named as)为了Doctors Without Borders;" 意思不对
known in English as "Doctors Without Borders,":过去分词作定语,
the English for "Doctors Without Borders,":同位语
C: 单复数 as it is known in English
known in English as "Doctors Without Borders," 是翻译过来是D
in English named as "Doctors Without Borders,"是 重新命名D的意思
A选项✅
A选项,the word's largest organization应该是修饰“MF”或“DWB”,不是修饰council,委员会不能是世界上最大的组织。
I like deer, an animal in forest, which is pretty.
I like deer, an animal in forest, and an animal is gender.
I like deer, which is pretty and likes eating grass.
The other problem is that the meaning in (C) is illogical. The organization wasn't given one name in French and then given a different name in English. Rather it was given a name an French and was known by a rough translation of that name in English. Hence, "known as" makes more logical sense than "named as."
There are two problems with the construction in (C.) First, if you were giving something a name, you wouldn't write "named as." For example, "I named my gerbil Ivan the Terrible," is fine, but "I named my gerbil as Ivan the Terrible," is not. The second example makes it sound as though I were impersonating Ivan the Terrible while naming my gerbil, and that would raise all sorts of questions among my neighbors.
Doris Schopper is known in English as DWB?
▪ The company president named [=appointed] his son (as) his successor.
▪ She was named to replace him as the company's vice president.
▪ She has been named (as) the winner of the competition.
▪ The magazine named him (as) the best artist of the year.
Name做动词
a. to give a name to sb./ sth., 例如name my dog Sandy
b. to say the names of sb./sth. Can you name the person who attacked you?
c. to choose sb. to be sth.
d. to decide on or to choose sth., 例如name the day of our wedding, name the day of the shuttle launch
C.named as 被命名为...
