这个图真是厉害了,GMAT真是不能看图
看错了第一句话
1. The slope of line l is 3 times its y-intercept
斜率是y轴交点的三倍。
• B:(b) contains bad parallelism. since you're talking about two trends that have taken place simultaneously, you MUST use the same verb tense to describe those trends.
in (b), the first verb (has ... added) is in the present perfect, but the second (increased) is in the simple past. the parallelism in (a) is perfect: both verbs (has ... added and have ... increased) are presented in the same tense.
• C:many new restaurants have recently been opened across the country and...
in this construction, there is no indication that these new restaurants have been opened by the company in question. it just says that they have recently been opened, but not by whom. that's an unacceptable shift of meaning.
• D&E:these choices are both wrong for one of the most common (and therefore important) reasons you'll encounter: the initial modifier modifies the wrong noun. both of these choices modify "the restaurant company's sales". they should be modifying "the restaurant company".
老师 请问
According to a 1996 study published in the Journal of Human Resources, Americans of Middle Eastern descent were twice as likely as was the national average to be self-employed.
这句话里面,这一部分Americans of Middle Eastern descent是做主语,那其中核心词是amrcians还是descent呢?我觉得应该是americans,但是视频里说的是descent。
另外,像 the majority of students, 核心词是students还是majority呢?谢谢
第一,可能视频里出现了口误哈,肯定是Americans ~
第二,这个the majority of 比较类似于many of和thousands of等等数词。当数词放在名词前面时,肯定是名词当真正的核心词哈~
平方之后会变为正数。。。。。。
1/3的remainer是1
额....我真的服气了 -190到195,不是剩下5了,而是剩下五个数字!191.192.193.194.195...................

考察修饰位置(题型)
考察“long before it was fashionable to be an expatriate”在修饰谁,expatriate表示去国外定居的人,即“早在成为去国外定居的人很时髦之前”。
Aggregate demand is OKAY, it is specific demand that's not predictable baby
关于there be ron的回答:
there is nothing wrong with saying 'there is x'. this construction is basically equivalent to 'x exists' (if x is a thing), or 'x happens' (if x is an event).
the problem, though, is that "the intentional discarding of lens caps, packing material , fuel tanks and payload covers" IS the "littering".
so, sentences D and E are not logical.
because of' must be followed by SOMETHING ELSE that is actually the cause of something.
'with' should be followed by a component or part of the previous observation.
note that the correct answer is phrased in a way that removes this problem.
the correct answer says "orbits ... have become more and more littered". in this version, "littered" means roughly the same as 'dirty' or 'polluted'.
They 指代谁很模糊,这个GMAT经常考,代指的问题
spectuation 是指整个clause
