In despite of the steady population flow out from rural areas into urban clusters, nearly 5 million farm households are still in Japan out of a total population of some 116 million people.
In despite of the steady population flow out from rural areas into urban clusters, nearly 5 million farm households are still in Japan
In spite of the steady population flow out from rural areas into urban clusters, nearly 5 million farm households are still in Japan
Despite the steady population flow from rural areas into urban clusters, Japan’s farm households are still nearly 5 million
Despite the steady population flow from rural areas to urban clusters, there are still nearly 5 million farm households in Japan
In Japan, despite the steady population flow out from rural areas into urban clusters, still there are nearly 5 million farm households
A项 in despite of 错误 且nearly 5 milion farm households are still in Japan表达有问题 这句话可以理解成有接近500W的人仍还在日本(其他人不在了)
B项 同上
C项 Japan's farm households are still nearly 5 million
it seems to indicate that there are 5 million people on farms in Japan rather than that the number of farm households in Japan is 5 million.
此外,from to是idoim 可以快速选D
考点:
1. in spite of vs. despite
2. from...to...
3. still作为时间指示词,放在be动词之后, there are still...。
来自牛津词典的一条解释:despite what has just been said (虽然…)
The weather was cold and wet. Still, we had a great time.
正确的固定搭配是from from A to B,to改成into不正确,flow out from A to B多了一个out是没有必要的
in spite of 和 despite 是对的(同义),但是没有 in despite of (A错)
D: there are still nearly 5 million farm households in Japan out of a total population of some 116 million people.
B : nearly 5 million farm households are still in Japan out of a total population of some 116 million people.
there be巨型互换倒没啥,应该是still的问题吧。
C: 应该是 households are still nearly 5 million,应该是 households 的 《数量》 是 5 million
E: 动词里 flow out from 可(查了字典),这里是名词 flow from就成,无out。
from...to...
We have a few key things to focus on here:
1. In despite of / In spite of / Despite (Idioms)
2. into / to (Idioms)
3. how each option ends (Meaning; Construction) --> A/B 选项中suggests that there may be some farm households moved outside of Japan, which isn't what we're talking about - we're talking about people moving from rural to urban areas within Japan.
beV is a linking VERB. so HOUSEHOLD cant be 5 million.
household/= 5M.
5M vs. total population or households vs. total population?
C 是不是应该说 the number of Japan’s farm households is still nearly 5 million xxxxxx
C项 Japan's farm households are still nearly 5 million
it seems to indicate that there are 5 million people on farms in Japan rather than that the number of farm households in Japan is 5 million. Also, nearly 5 million farm households are still in Japan is stated confusingly; the idea is not that the farm households are leaving Japan itself, but rather that people are leaving rural areas.
from to对
despite , still 错
难题。。。
ABE都可以排除,因为 flow out from...to..
C. Japan's farm households are still nearly 5 million is confusingly phrased. As worded, it seems to indicate that there are 5 million people on farms in Japan rather than that the number of farm households in Japan is 5 million. The intended meaning would be better conveyed if it said there are still nearly 5 million farm households in Japan.
C的错误在于,Japan's farm households is 5 million表述正确,应改为:there are 5 million households或者the number of Japan's households is 5 million 或者 5 million households in Japan 都可以对

manhattan中idioms章说明只有from...to...
介词/介词短语:despite/in spite of + n.
either in spite of or despite is acceptable.
Also, nearly 5 million farm households are still in Japan is stated confusingly; the idea is not that the farm households are leaving Japan itself, but rather that people are leaving rural areas.

中:flow from a to b;或者flow out from a into b; 排除c
后: there are still,没有still there are的说法,错误用法,排除e
只有despite the fact that, 没有despite that

这里用there be而不直接用japen's的原因是后面未划线部分out of a total population of some 116 million people.根本没有提到japen,因此用population in japan会更好,介宾短语修饰整个比较句子,而japen's涉及不到后面的 total population of some 116 million people,甚至可以理解成世界farm households的total population是116million。
这里的flow是名词不是动词,population flow (from xxx to xxx) 人口流动
