For many people, household labor remains demanding even if able to afford household appliances their grandparents would find a miracle.
even if able to afford household appliances their grandparents would find a miracle
despite being able to afford household appliances their grandparents would find a miracle
even if they can afford household appliances their grandparents would have found miraculous
although they could afford household appliances their grandparents would find miraculous
even if they are able to afford household appliances which would have been a miracle to their grandparents
E选项:定语从句which would have been a miracle to their grandparents的说法有误。通常来说,这个句型的意思是“给某人以某物”,例如:
The apple is a gift to(for) you.
该例句的意思是:这个苹果是给你的礼物。用之于本题:
household appliances would have been a miracle to their grandparents.

D changes the meaning by using although. This is saying that despite the fact that they can afford household appliances the labor is demanding, instead of saying whether or not they can afford the appliances the labor is demanding. Although shows that they definitely can, whereas even if shows that hypothetically can.
IMO, the more substantive route to solve this would be to sift whether ' would find' or 'would have found' is correct. There is no point in saying that the grandparents would find them a miracle in the coming future days. We must attribute their perception with what they would have felt in their on their own contemporaneous times.
Even if - means whether or not and has to do with the conditions that may apply.
1. Even if I had time, I wouldn't watch that programme.
2. Even if Mark told the truth, I wouldn't believe him.
Even though - Even though means despite the fact that and is a more emphatic version of though and although. It is primarily concesive
1. Even though I had time, I didn't watch that programme
2. Even though Mark told the truth, I didn't believe him.
The differences can be appreciated in this sentence
1. I'm going out, even if it rains
2. I'm going out, even though it's going to rain
We do not know whether it will rain or not in (1) so we use even if
In (2) we know that it is going to rain but we are going out anyway
D. The sentence is set up in present context of time. Thus, use of “could afford” – past tense is incorrect. Similarly, the verb tense “would find” is incorrect. This verb tense should be “would have verb”. This is because the sentence states a hypothetical condition. These appliances did not exist in the times of grandparents. But per the sentence if these appliances had existed at that time, then the grandparents would have found them miraculous. By using “would verb” tense, the sentence now implies that if grandparents saw these appliances being used today, they will find them miraculous.
不是很理解为什么C中的can可以和would have 搭配,不是应该改成could才能搭配上吗?
CD
1、时态
2、although表示事实之间的转折,even if表示假设(让步),与后面的推测语气相符
A,if是连词,后面要接完整的句子
B,despite表转折,让步,与句意不符
D,同B
E,引用:定语从句which would have been a miracle to their grandparents的说法有误。通常来说,这个句型的意思是“给某人以某物”,例如:
The apple is a gift to(for) you.
该例句的意思是:这个苹果是给你的礼物。用之于本题:
household appliances would have been a miracle to their grandparents.
该句的意思是:机器是给父母们的一个奇迹。显然地,这在逻辑上是不正确的。正确的说法是,父母发现这些机器是奇迹(是机器本身是奇迹,而不是机器是给父母的奇迹)。
CD
1、时态
2、although表示事实之间的转折,even if表示假设(让步),与后面的推测语气相符
前面even if they can并不需要虚拟,因为是事实。所以不能用could afford。【真实条件句,不能用虚拟】
后半句的意思是“假如这些家电放在以前,祖父母会觉得很神奇”,事实上这些家电放在以前是绝对不会发生的情况,所以用past perfect 。【非真实条件句,要用虚拟】
混合虚拟语气!各用各的,所以这样组合是可以的。
household appliances...
Between C and D: Would do vs. Would have done
- Would do: shows a possibility for someone to do something — future, which means.
- Would have done is used when we refer to a possibility at a time that has already passed — a sort of past.
3. be able to 和afford有语义重复
时态 虚拟语气
时态 未划线是现在是 连词 从句也是现在时态 定语由于内容是 对过去的虚拟,用 would have done
would have done 对过去的虚拟
although / despiete / even if 在中文里,尽管、即使没有差别。
* 尽管我不喜欢考试,我也得考试
* 即使我不喜欢考试,我也得考试
我觉得考点应该是虚拟语气的使用。
would 与 would have done
forword:陈思行
although尽管,表示一种既定事实,而even if即使,表示假设;would find -是表示对现在或将来的假设或虚拟;would have found是表示对过去的假设或虚拟。
d的错误应该是时态不对
真正想表达的不是 对于他们是个miracle 而是他们发现是miracle 最后时刻琢磨作者究竟想表达什么!过去的实际上未发生的想象 would have done 没错 翻译为 “本可以”
