用comma + ing 结构来判断，使用该结构的条件之一是，前后两个动作是同时发生，且comma+ing 的这个动作是前一个动作的直接造成的结果，所以如果使用, outnumbering, 表明在数量上超过这个动作是在他写信的时候发生，不合逻辑。

棒棒哒解释。用comma+ing是表示和主句动作同时或者有一定因果关系。而这两个动作的毫无关系的，所以不能这样用。
