关于as disturbing as：Mr. aeo 在prep08里面讲过，as disturbing 第一个as是adv，表示程度。第二个as是连词，连接句子（本题E的连词使用没有问题，因为连词可以连接省略的句子）。既然是两个句子，那么have就不能理解为跨越in his own time 和for ours两个时间区域。
前后时态不一致，一个是过去的影响一个是现在的，如果你后面像E一样就默认了时态和前面是一致的
当they are compelling时候正在disturbing， 而不是have been一直disturbing
