为什么第二 as 后面一定要跟句子？不跟句子不是也两个 ing 平行吗？
时态从一般过去式变成了一般现在时，谓语动词由were变成了are，所以要补出主语

they were as...as they are 根据were和are的不同来进行时间上的比较。E选项没有这个效果。
这句话啥意思木有看懂。。。
they were as...as they are
考点：平行结构。B选项的第一个AS后面跟的是形容词，第二个as后面跟的一个句子，感觉有点不不行。选了E, 这个选项简化一下就是as distrubing +介词组 as compelling +介词组，完美平行。然而确实错误的。
我觉得cde错在了have been的选择上
