1-是不是可以变成“do not have, nor are likely to” 因为Nor本身就包含了一个“否定”的意思?
nope. you can't do that unless you have a "neither" in front.
i.e.:
the schools neither have, nor are likely to have, ...
this would work.
CONJ You use nor after "neither" in order to introduce the second alternative or the last of a number of alternatives in a negative statement.
He cannot find anyone now, nor /or expects to find anyone in the future.
You could not persuade him to accept it, nor/or make him see the importance of it.
He cannot find anyone now, nor does he expect to find anyone in the future
Jane will never compromise with Bill, nor will Bill compromise with Jane.
many schools do not have, or likely to have,应该是很多学校没有,或可能有
(B) nor作为连词,do not have, nor likely to have不平行, 应该在nor后面加上are, 使are likely to…和do not have构成动词结构的并列或者将likely to去掉,构成do not have, nor have的平列
(c) is, as far as i can tell grammatically correct (although the commas are superfluous in such a construction), but it's simply absurd. the use of "or" here creates a sentence that is weirdly self-contradictory.
the clear point of the sentence is that the schools don't have enough computers, so you need to select the choice that's grammatically correct but also in line with that meaning. (d) is the only choice that satisfies both criteria.

nor和or not是一个意思吗
GMAT连接词——fanboys:for,and,but,or,yet,nor
这道题如果使用or,前后逻辑不通,用nor(既不···也不···)更合适
因为many schools的动词是do,而likely的搭配是be likely to,所以不能省略are,必须补出来。
因为many schools的动词是do,而likely的搭配是be likely to,所以不能省略are,必须补出来。
D
因为many schools的动词是do,而likely的搭配是be likely to,所以不能省略are,必须补出来。
D

concludes that 后平行两部分 many schools do not have 和 nor are they likely to have
省略掉they

Logic No?
them不能跳过have指代schools。
因为many schools的动词是do,而likely的搭配是be likely to,所以不能省略are,必须补出来。

them 跟They 在一句话中不需要指代同一个先行词吗? they are not likely to have enough computers to use them correctly 也是有歧义的不是吗?
(c) is, as far as i can tell grammatically correct (although the commas are superfluous in such a construction), but it's simply absurd. the use of "or" here creates a sentence that is weirdly self-contradictory.
