Laboratory rats and mice live up to 40 percent longer than usual when fed a diet of at least 30 percent fewer calories than that which they would normally eat, but that otherwise contains all necessary vitamins and nutrients.
of at least 30 percent fewer calories than that which they would normally eat, but that otherwise
with at least 30 percent fewer calories than what they would normally eat though otherwise it
that has at least 30 percent fewer of the calories that they would normally eat, but otherwise it
that has at least 30 percent fewer calories than they would normally eat but that otherwise
that has at least 30 percent fewer calories than that which they would normally eat, though that otherwise
首先,具有fewer calories than关系的两者应该是a diet和a diet that they would normally eat,所以than后需要写出比较的对象(时态或情态等任何的不同均不能省略),即they would normally eat,可以排除(A)(B)(E)。 30%(at least 30 percent fewer calories than they would normally)”和“所有的营养以及维他命是一样的(contains all necessary vitamins and nutrients)”,即,这个diet中,虽然某些“坏东西”少了,但是“好东西”没有什么变化,因此has at least 30 percent应该和contains all necessary vitamins and nutrients平行,可以排除(C),答案为(D)。

选项A:首先,a diet of 表示 “一种......
B:what they would normally eat扩大了语义范围,包含了老鼠所有吃的内容,从而改变了比较双方造成不可比;同时,though 表示让步,语义变成 “虽然它包含了必需的维生素和营养” ,“但是热量还是少了百分之30”,可以理解为 “维生素和营养” 其实并不重要。
a diet (that has at least 30 percent fewer calories than they would normally eat) but (that otherwise contains all necessary vitamins and nutrients).
30 percent fewer calories than (the calories that) they would normally eat, fewer后面跟的是calories,所以比较的对象是calories,而不是diet。
两个(that...)
看到but应该想到平行,不要只看到and才想平行,otherwise 另外; that。。but that 。。
that has at least 30 percent fewer calories than they would normally eat but that otherwise
去繁(than they would normally eat )从简(that has fewer calories but that。。)
a diet of + food normally refers to a kind of specific food;
a diet with normally followed by tools:a diet with spoon
请问,A,E选项中的 that which they would normally eat、B选项中的what they would normally eat,
分别与 a diet that they would normally eat 有什么不同呢?
关键是,在than的后面,不是that they would normally eat,而是they would normally eat。
- 比较对象是【少30%卡的diet】和【平时吃的diet】,【they would normally eat】的核心词是eat, diet 怎么能和 eat 进行比较呢?
-【a diet that they would normally eat】【that which they would normally eat】【what they would normally eat】三个用法的不同之处在哪里呢?
I eat more apples than you do一样,最合理的比较对象肯定是苹果数量,但我也可以认为是吃这个行为的发生次数呀。
恩,明白了,diet 和 they would normally eat 可以比较。
那么 diet 和 A、B、E选项中的 【that which they would normally eat】、【what they would normally eat 】为什么不能比较呢?
老师在解析中也说了具有fewer calories than关系的两者应该是a diet和a diet that they would normally eat,所以比较的对象应该是diet才对啊。。。
同问
个人感觉可以先通过语义排除B和E(不能用though而是要用but),然后再用but平行排除A和C。

Laboratory rats and mice live up to 40 percent longer than usual
when fed a diet 【that 从句 has at least 30 percent fewer calories than they would normally eat】 but 【that从句 otherwise contains all necessary vitamins and nutrients.】
具有fewer calories than关系的两者应该是a diet和a diet that they would normally eat,所以than后需要写出比较的对象(时态或情态等任何的不同均不能省略),即they would normally eat,(省略,对比... than "in" xx or 1980s)

and , but ,or 合句
D,rats was fed a diet that has at least 30 percent fewer calories than they would normally eat
这里被比较部分省略了定语或比较的主体diet, than (the diet) they would normally eat,但不会引起歧义。
Rice has protein of higher quality than that in wheat.
That不能省略,因为比较的是 protein in rice VS protein in wheat,不是rice VS wheat
D选项的比较结构后半部分,than they would normally,是省略了a diet that吗,但是有这样的省略规则吗?

如果有that那么就是calories和diet比较所以than后面有that都去掉 ACE就去掉了。C也没有than。D是因为 that xxxx but that xxx?
