纠结CE,认为C是are geared to enhance athletes' performance and (to enhance) their preparation,句意如果是这样不可以么?还是说不能用那个their?为什么E一定更好呢,E也用了个them指代平行结构前一般的内容athletes。求解答,谢谢老师!
同问省略to enhance 怎么不行。同问their指代就模糊了them就不模糊为什么不行!求解答!拜托老师!!
我觉得是语义的问题,提高表现是对的,但是提高准备就有点儿奇怪了吧....所以enhance和prepare应该是并列的

in this case, the point is that "over the age of 30" and "under it" are exactly parallel elements, creating a sensible comparison. that's all you really have to find.
有一个不是很理解的地方,希望老师帮忙解答一下。
我本来认为这种带比较性质的句子是需要补充省略的部分的,然后我以为full sentence长这样:more babies were born to women over the age of thirty than (those were born to women) under it.
但是后来我在曼哈顿里看到RON这样说:

想了半天觉得B是独立主格是不是没有表达因果关系,A理解成了分词短语,觉得重心在plummeting,becoming 就给选了。嗯,错得清楚方便一万吨拍的瞄准。。。。。。
独立主格本身是状语从句的简化嘛,可以表达各种因果啊,转折啊等等的关系的。选项A的because of是介词,身后只能用名词。所以,这里because of身后部分的核心词是costs。由于独立主格的本质是从句,所以B的核心词是动作。
请问老师,那A是不是就相当于在说because of service costs and mobile phones? 所以错误,因为至少也应该是because of rising cost and increasingly common mobile phones。
B选项的核心词是动作,所以十分正确!
