（转 存档）这题我扒了国内国外很多解释，最后还是同意RON解释的。
RON觉得，“Heating-oil prices are expected to be higher this year than last”跟“Prices at the producer level are only 1.3 percent higher now than a year ago”，都是省略了（they were），省略了之后 aren't necessarily faulty，也就是省略不省略都可以接受。比较对象是两个时间段的价格，但不是 those of last year，因为要跟前面的句式保持平行，所以是they were。
比前年的价格多了5 元 5 yuan more than the prices were last year

BE都错在比较的平行问题上
heating-oil prices will be higher this year than last year✅
heating-oil prices of this year will be higher than that of last✅
this year‘s heating-oil prices will be higher than last year’s✅

E选项那个关于expect的解释…………感觉怪怪的

看了一遍，个人感觉所有对A选项解释的都牵强。
从语感上来讲，我更认为A中的last是表示上一年的，去年的，省略的是last后面的prices或last ones。 而不是省略了they were这些。而所谓的比较对象是this year和last year这种说法肯定是错的。than前面的主语是价格，那么比较的只能是这一年的价格和上一年的价格。

——语法——
1）平行结构
A：Heating-oil prices are expected to be higher this year than last because refiners 【are paying】 about $5 a barrel more for crude oil than 【they were (paying)】 last year. 比较对象是are paying&were paying eg. I ran faster today than (I did) yesterday.
B：Heating-oil prices are expected to rise higher this year [over❌] last because ——refiners pay about $5 a barrel for crude oil 【more位置有错误】than they did last year
5 dollar a barrel more for crude oil 而不是 5 dollar a barrel for crude oil more

expect看法類動詞被動語態時後面只能加to be，不可以加that

1.rise和higher重复，
2.比较：但是，last year's在than的身前无法找到平行对象，可以改为： this year's heating-oil prices are higher than last year's prices. ，如果要用所有格形式，则前面的句子必须也要有所有格形式

E it is expected that 并不是宾语从句，是逻辑主语；如果是the price is expected that 就是错误。E主要问题是rise 和higher赘余和比较问题

比较级 + than，排除BD
C比较的是last year's expectation和this year's expectation.
E 比较的两个动作，than后面不用last year's (prices)。

关键是比较修饰对象，比较的是名词还是动作。

第一个比较 price is higher this year than (that is) last year. "higher 修饰的是price，比较名词" 或者改成 the price rise higher this year than the price did last year —— "higher修饰的是rise，比较的动作"
第二个比较：are paying $5 more than they were (paying last year) 或者 pay $5 more than they did ——more 比较的pay 这个动作，所以比较 were 或者 did

I have less money in Feb than in Jan.

rise表达了“上升”的意思，而higher表示更高。在逻辑上，rise的结果一定是“使得某物higher” 。重复错误
higher…than…是习惯用语，higher…over…是不正确的

than 的前后比较对象得对等

这题我可以排除CDE，关键卡在了AB，明明知道rise higer是累赘，但是觉得A的they指代不清，所以选了B。其实they在文中既可以指代prices，也可以指代refiners，按逻辑来讲是可以理解成prices的，没有硬伤。我局限在它只能就近指代refiners了，所以觉得应该用did而不是were。正确选项是认可了they指代prices

B选项：rise表达了“上升”的意思，而higher表示更高。在逻辑上，rise的结果一定是“使得某物higher”，因此，rise或higher只能存在一个，higher赘余；


C选项：比较对象不对等。比较两个年份的价格在本题中也是可以的，但是，last year's在than的身前无法找到平行对象，可以改为： this year's heating-oil prices are higher than last year's prices.

后面是‘s是定语，前面要有相对应的定语和他平行。
