题目分析:
本题难度较大,需要看清每个成分。
选项分析:
A选项:连词as身后是由并列连词and连接起来的合句,即, a broad area of high pressure will build和a broad area of high pressure will bring fair and dry weather for several days. 在逻辑上,能带来几天干燥的天气的应该是前文的两个天气现象,不应是a broad area of high pressure。
B选项:选项末尾的that bring fair and dry weather for several days是定语从句,其修饰对象为a broad area of high pressure,这造成的错误同选项(A)。
C选项:本选项具有语法错误,最后的并列连词and身前building不能做谓语动词,这造成了语法错误。
D选项:with a broad area of high pressure building是独立主格结构,其无法和身后的动宾短语bring fair and dry weather for several days形成并列关系。如果将并列连词and身后的动作理解为和主句will continue并列,则需在该独立主格身后也加上逗号,让独立主格变为插入语。
E选项:Correct. 本选项在语法和逻辑上均是正确的。值得注意的是,划线部分最后的非限定性定语从句which will bring fair and dry weather for several days在修饰其身前的两个事件的共同结果。
usher vt. 引导;引领
The secretary ushered me into his office.
秘书把我领进他的办公室。
这道题ABC三个选项中,usher in a seasonably cool air mass into the region中的in可以作为致命错误,从而排除ABC

解析有点误导人。as可以作when用只不过中间的will导致时态错误。gmat中which一般指代名词没事别轻易强行解释可修饰句子,只不过which也可修饰"A+动词“这种结构中的A,这一知识点ron有讲。
同意
同意,which应该修饰a broad area of high pressure吧

Notes: 1. usher...into...--idiom
2. continue to is better than continue doing
3. which 跳跃修饰前面的主语名词:a broad area of high pressure.
所以最后选E
老师E里面的which指代的是不是a broad area of high prrssure, 理解为:(将带来fair and dry weather的) 广泛的高气压区形成,
A的错误应该是,as引导后面这句话,逻辑不对,因为usher in..cool air和高气压区域的形成不是因果的关系,而是同时, E里面的while正确表达了这两个事件的逻辑和时间关系。这题有点绕,错了轻拍。。。
as是由while的意思的

A:In Choice A, use of as is incorrect because in the context of the sentence, as can mean because as well as while.
In addition, the sentence intends to convey that while A happens, B will happen. Hence, use of the verb will build is not correct as these verbs do not convey the sequence of the events clearly.
IDIOM:I usher X into A.
用continue约束力强排除BD可以哇?
可以麻烦老师讲讲continue to do和continue doing之间的区别吗。我做题是先按照这个排除的。。。
这道题真的颠覆对于which的感受了
马克下这道难题
E选项,which指代的是a broad area of high pressure 而不是两个事件。根据常识,高气压能产生干燥晴朗天气,而Gusty westerly winds则与之无关。
对的,地理上也说了
那就没办法排除 A 了吧 T T

我有一句MMP……
A选项的will算不算硬伤呀
这道题continue to do和doing不是考点么?

This uses a quite idiosyncratic idiom, involving the verb "to usher." The literal use of this word is the action of the person called an "usher," the person in a theater or at a classical concern who escorts patrons to their seats. Metaphorically, it is used about anything that brings something into existence. The basic idiom is:
I usher X in.
If I want to specify the region in which this X is introduced, I would say:
I usher X into A.
This is not a strict rule, but "continue" +[infinitive] sounds formal and sophisticated, whereas "continue" +[gerund] sounds casual and colloquial.
Choice (D) also makes a mistake with "with" + [noun] + [participle]. That's very subtle.
This leave (E), the OA.
